Terms of Service
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Acceptance of these terms
By booking a class, paying, or otherwise using our services, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not register for a class.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Liability Waiver. We recommend reading all three before booking.
About our services
2nd Breath CPR provides hands-on CPR, AED, and First Aid certification training in Tampa Bay, Florida. Our instructors are certified through the American Heart Association, MEDIC First Aid, and American Red Cross, delivering curriculum aligned with current American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Guidelines.
Successful completion of a class results in a verifiable certification card from the issuing certifying body. We are a training provider, not a medical service. The skills we teach are intended for use until professional emergency medical services arrive.
Booking and payment
- Registration is by request: submit our schedule form, and we'll confirm a class date that fits your availability
- Once a class date is confirmed, we email you a secure Stripe Checkout link
- Payment is required to confirm your seat
- Optional physical certification cards (AHA, MEDIC First Aid, or our branded card) can be added at checkout: see options
- We accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay through Stripe. We never see or store your card number
Refunds, cancellations, and transfers
Our refund policy is straightforward:
- 3 weeks or more (21+ days) before class: 100% refund
- 2 to 3 weeks (14 to 20 days) before class: 50% refund
- Less than 2 weeks (under 14 days) before class: no refund
Reschedules (paid): if you want to move to a different date but keep your seat, the fee depends on notice:
- 3 weeks or more before class: free
- 2 to 3 weeks before class: $25 fee
- Less than 2 weeks before class: $55 fee
Reschedule fees must be paid before the new date takes effect. Your original class payment is not refunded; the fee is charged in addition. This discourages no-shows, honors instructor time, and helps cover fixed costs like venue rental.
Free transfer window: regardless of how close to your class you contact us, you may transfer your seat to a future class within 60 days at no additional charge, no questions asked. This is separate from the paid reschedule fees above and is the courtesy path for unexpected conflicts.
To request a refund, transfer, or reschedule, email info@2ndBreathCPR.com before your scheduled class.
If we cancel a class (for instructor illness, severe weather, equipment failure, or any other reason), you receive a full refund or a no-cost transfer to your choice of future class, whichever you prefer.
Class participation requirements
- You must read and acknowledge our Liability Waiver before participating
- Open to ages 12 and up
- Participants under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign the waiver
- You should be in reasonable physical condition for the activity. Chest compressions on a manikin require kneeling, sustained physical effort, and back/wrist/shoulder engagement
- Disclose any pre-existing conditions, recent surgery, or pregnancy when you register so we can plan accordingly
- You may attend as an observer if you cannot participate physically. Let us know in advance
- Wear comfortable, kneel-friendly clothing and closed-toe shoes
Certification cards
- All students who pass the skills evaluation receive a digital completion card included with the class fee
- Optional physical cards are available at additional cost: AHA card ($35), MEDIC First Aid card ($30), or our 2nd Breath branded card ($8)
- The branded $8 card is our internal completion card, best suited for personal awareness and in-house corporate training. Most schools accept training center cards and certification cards recognized by the State of Florida. For regulated roles (healthcare, FL DCF childcare, FL school athletic departments), the AHA or MEDIC First Aid card is the safest pick; contact us with any questions
- Cards are issued upon successful skills check. If a student is unable to demonstrate the required skills, we typically schedule a no-cost re-evaluation
- Certification cards are valid for two years from the end of the month of issue
- All cards are verifiable through the issuing certifying body's online lookup tool
Code of conduct
Our classes are inclusive, respectful, and focused. Acknowledgment of this code is collected as a separate, required checkbox on the schedule form. By registering, you agree to:
- Follow all park rules, venue rules, and applicable laws during the class
- Treat the instructor, fellow students, and members of the public with respect
- Follow instructor guidance on safety and equipment use
- Not record video or audio of other students without the instructor's permission (the instructor may record the class: see the recording-consent checkbox on the schedule form)
- Not consume alcohol or recreational substances before or during class
- Disclose communicable illness symptoms before class. We can transfer you to a future class without penalty
We reserve the right to ask any student to leave a class for disruptive, aggressive, harassing, or unlawful conduct, with the assistance of venue staff or law enforcement where appropriate. The class fee is non-refundable when a student is removed for cause. Our standard refund policy does not apply. Civil or legal action may be pursued where warranted, including for property damage, threats, or harassment.
Intellectual property
Course materials, slide decks, handouts, and our website content are protected by copyright. Personal use of materials received during class is fine; redistribution, republishing, or commercial use without our written permission is not permitted.
Brand marks of certifying bodies (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, MEDIC First Aid) are the property of their respective owners. We use them only to describe our courses where authorized by those bodies.
Disclaimers
- We teach lifesaving skills, but we do not guarantee outcomes. CPR effectiveness depends on many factors outside training
- The information we provide is for emergency-response training only and is not a substitute for medical advice from a licensed clinician
- Cards we issue verify completion of training, not licensure to practice medicine
- We make reasonable efforts to ensure accurate course content but cannot guarantee that every employer or licensing body will accept any specific card. Verify with your employer or regulator before assuming acceptance
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, our liability for any claim arising out of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant class. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages.
Nothing in these terms attempts to limit liability that cannot be limited under Florida law, including liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough or Pinellas County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes affecting existing registrations will be communicated by email; for already-confirmed classes, the version of the terms in effect at the time of your booking applies.
