Class logistics

Where does my class actually happen?
Group classes are held at our Tampa Bay classroom venue. We confirm the exact address when your class is scheduled. Private 1-on-1 sessions come to you, anywhere convenient in Tampa Bay. Onsite group training at your office, church, or school is a custom quote.
How long is the class?
CPR classes run about 2 hours; First Aid, CPR & AED classes run about 4 hours. Both include in-person hands-on practice with real manikins and AED trainers, a written knowledge check, and a final skills evaluation. We also offer hybrid and remote learning to cut down on classroom time. The same material is provided remotely and tested on the day of training in person, so shorter days are possible when it suits your schedule.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can kneel and move in. You'll spend time on the floor next to a manikin for compressions practice. Closed-toe shoes preferred.
Will food or water be provided?
We provide water. Feel free to bring snacks or a small meal for the longer group sessions. There's a break in the middle.
What's the youngest age you'll certify?
Open to ages 12 and up. Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the liability waiver before the class. For unaccompanied minors, the guardian can sign in advance via e-signature.
I have a recent surgery, cardiac history, or back/wrist injury. Can I still take the class?
CPR practice on a manikin is physically demanding. If you have a recent surgery (especially chest, shoulder, wrist, or back), a cardiac condition, or are in late-stage pregnancy, please clear participation with your doctor first. You can still attend as an observer if needed.

Certification cards

Which certification card should I get?
Every student gets a digital completion card included, sufficient for most personal and corporate use. For specific roles: AHA card ($35) for healthcare, FL school athletic coaches, and most regulated roles · MEDIC First Aid card ($30) for OSHA workplace and FL DCF childcare · 2nd Breath branded card ($8) for personal awareness and in-house corporate. Most schools accept training center cards and certification cards recognized by the State of Florida. For any further questions please contact us.
How long is my certification valid?
Two years from the end of the issue month, for all card types.
How do I verify my card?
Each card is verifiable through the issuing certifying body's online lookup tool.
Will my employer accept this card?
For most general employers: yes. Most schools accept training center cards and certification cards recognized by the State of Florida. For regulated roles (healthcare, FL school coaching, FL DCF childcare), check the card-choice question above. If you're uncertain, ask your HR which issuing body they require.

Payment & refunds

How do I pay?
Two paths. Fastest: pick a scheduled class on our schedule page and pay right there via secure Stripe Checkout. Or share your availability if none of the listed classes fit; once we confirm a date, we email you a payment link. Card upgrades are added at checkout in both paths. Payment is required to confirm your seat.
What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel at least 3 weeks (21+ days) before class. 50% refund between 2 and 3 weeks (14–20 days) before. No refund inside 2 weeks (under 14 days). You can also transfer your seat to a future class within 60 days at no charge, no questions asked.
What if I need to reschedule to a different date?
Reschedule 3+ weeks before class: free. Between 2 and 3 weeks before class: $25 fee. Under 2 weeks before class: $55 fee. The fee is paid before the reschedule takes effect and is in addition to your original class payment (which is not refunded).
Can I transfer to another class?
Yes. One free transfer within 60 days, regardless of how close to class you transfer. Just email us before your scheduled class. This is separate from paid reschedules; the free transfer covers unexpected conflicts.
What happens if I don't show up?
If a student doesn't attend or arrives too late to complete the skills evaluation, the seat is forfeited. No refund or transfer applies. The class cost covers instructor time, materials, equipment, and the seat we held for you.

Languages

Is the class really fully in Spanish?
Yes. When you book a Spanish class, all instruction, materials, written check, and skills evaluation are delivered in Spanish. Your instructor is bilingual and the completion card lookup is available in both languages.
Can I switch languages day-of?
Typically, group classes run in one language per session; pick at booking. However, in large group settings (20–40+ students) we can split one section to a Spanish-speaking instructor and one section to an English-speaking instructor, so each group gets the attention and quality of training they need in their preferred language. Private 1-on-1 sessions can flex between English and Spanish if it helps your learning.

Onsite training

How do I request an onsite quote?
Use the form on our contact page. Tell us your organization, group size, preferred timeframe, and language. We typically reply within one business day with a per-seat quote.
What's the minimum group size for onsite?
Generally 6 students. Smaller groups are still possible but the per-seat price approaches our group classroom rate.
Do you travel outside Tampa Bay?
Our standard service area is Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties. For onsite groups outside that range, contact us. We may be able to accommodate with a travel surcharge for the right group size.

Equipment & safety

What equipment do you bring?
Adult, child, and infant manikins (3:1 student ratio per type taught), AED training devices, pocket masks, single-use face shields (one per student), course materials, and the skills-evaluation rubric.
Is the manikin face cleaned between students?
Every student uses their own single-use face shield, and manikin faces are sanitized between sessions. We follow current CDC-aligned infection-control practice for manikin use.
I have a latex allergy. Do you accommodate?
Yes. Let us know at booking. We bring non-latex gloves and barrier devices for any student who flags an allergy.
